Character Creation Blender Tutorial Series – Creating Blake
A series of video tutorials to walk through the process of creating an anime/toon style character, from start to finish in Blender. There will be some introductory videos, some step by step videos, and probably some time-lapse videos as well.
I’m looking to cover a lot of topics, including; modeling (box, edge, organic, inorganic, lattices), texturing (procedural, maybe nodes), physics (particle hair, cloth simulator), rigging (basic rigs, ik constraints), rendering (lighting, rendering, composite nodes), and animation (walk, run, and maybe a full shot).
My aim is to release one video tutorial per week, each one being around 20min in length. You can find all of the available tutorials at the Character Creation Vimeo Channel.
Modeling Convincing Clothing with Blender
A two part video tutorial series that explains one way of modeling clothing using Blender.
In the first part I take the viewer through the process of modeling a sleeve. The final result will be a fairly realistic looking shirt sleeve with wrinkles at the elbow, but no cloth simulator applied. I use this same technique in the second part to model a long trench coat, then add a cloth simulator to it. To show off the cloth movement I add some wind to make the coat tails move, then do a quick jump action to see how it reacts to the character.
