Long time update
o after being reminded this weekend that I haven’t updated my blog in a while I decided to go ahead and post a quick update. 😉
The house project is nearly completed. Â The next step is just to make a walk through animation. Â I decided not to add any furniture just in the interest of time and my patience with the project. Â The materials certainly aren’t perfect, but I think that it gives an accurate description of the layout of the house, which was the purpose from the beginning. Â Look for an update in the next couple of weeks with a final animation.
Next, after reading an article in the local paper this weekend about Argon Zark, the online webcomic, I discovered that the creator grew up about ten minutes from my place. Â This is more inspiring than I thought actually, so it reminded me of a webcomic I had seen made with Blender not too long ago. Â This comic is Us the Robots, made by a kid (I say kid because he is only 19, which is also inspiring) named Sam entirely in Blender. Â The comic itself is very well done and the artwork is excellent. Â There are some very funny “episodes,” so I encourage you to check it out!
All this webcomic talk got me thinking about what it would take to actually make one and I set out to see what I could do, or at least give it a try. Â In my searching I found a nice little model and rig by a Blender Artist named FreakyDude of a basic stick figure. Â He is fully rigged and amazingly posable. Â I haven’t played with him for very long, but he is really good fun to play with! Â After watching some repeat olympic gymnastics last night I did a quick render:
